Nintendo Related Cards

There has been a history of Nintendo and cards, starting back before Nintendo was even a game creating company (they used to make playing cards at one point), and it has not stopped through time. Pokemon cards in many forms. Various free types of cards given out with magazines. I even remember designing some Nintendo related cards myself once. Based on the Mario Haunted House levels and the like. Either way, this page just shows off the types of cards I have in my personal collections.

Nintendo Character Playing Cards

Free with an early issue of Nintendo Official Magazine, this set is based on various Nintendo characters, and is divided in four various suits based on Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Donkey Kong, represented by Mushroom, Rupee, Metroid and Barrel icons representatively. Of course, the sets were not greatly matched up, as it was totally non series canonical or logical in any form. Either way, here were the sets:

Mushroom Suit

Metroid Suit

Barrel Suit

Rupee Suit

Super Smash Bros Melee Cards

Also free with a NOM issue were these cards of characters and stages in Super Smash Bros Melee. No item cards or anything else ever existed, but they had cards of every single stage and character, with the character ones detailing the characters console game moves.

Of course, there was no real way to use these, but the stage cards did say stuff like 'If you have [insert character here] you automatically win this round'.
