Mario and Luigi Partners in Time Debug Menu
There is a hidden debug menu in Partners in Time, with some interesting usage. But remember, before you try any of the steps on this page or whatever, this needs an Action Replay DS to work.
Access the menu
To access the menu, load up the Action Replay DS. Now, insert Mario and Luigi Partners in Time, then click the tick shaped icon to see a code list. Choose the debug menu code to activate.
Now, click the large button in the middle to start the game. Now, hold select while choosing the file to go to the debug menu.
The Menu Functions
There are four options, and there is a warp hole to the top right. The menu options in turn say:
Far left- Kubota
Second from left- Kobayashi
Second from right- Fujioka
Far right- Maekawa
If you click X, it will add one coin to your money total for every click of the button. Clicking Y will take away one coin from your total money for each click.
A will click an option, and then confirm it. B will go back from certain options.
Toadswood Forest Warp
No idea what's different here. Just a warp to the forest area I think.
Hollijolli Village Warp
One option takes you to Hollijolli Village, as it is in your file, and deposits you right in the Mayor's house. Nothing seems different from usual.
The grassy field (Fujioka)
This is a pretty big, empty field. Only Mario and Luigi appear here, and there is an unmoving wooden platform near the wall on the top screen. There is a Dark Boo in the top area of this garden like place. There are steps to the bottom area, and ramps to the left and right also going down. There is a pipe block, and clicking brings the babies to the adults. Making the babies walk back to the adults brings them to the final area and freezes the game.
However, when it is frozen, you can press start, and when you click X or Y, it brings you back to the field, where you can hear the babies. They then also appear to the top left in the field. However, the game is also frozen. You can go back and fourth with X/Y to go to the grassy field and babies, or A/B to go to the final area with adult Mario and Luigi. You just cannot do anything.
Fighting the Dark Boo brings you to a battle against some Shrooblets in the area before Hollijolli Village. You cannot use Baby Mario or Luigi in this battle. However, winning takes you back to the field area.
The spring leads nowhere.
Okay, if you take the babies and go to the blue thing, the top screen shows an area very like the bottom one, and the babies will warp there if you walk in a certain place. Talk to the Toad and another wooden platform will appear in the area on the top screen. Either way, going to that switch warps the babies to the top screen, and more stuff seems to be up there, in an area pretty much like the bottom one.
Talking to the Toad in the bottom area freezes the game.
Bowser's Castle (frozen)
The four heroes are just standing there, frozen in front of the suitcase guide character. Nothing can be done, because the game is basically dead locked.
Final option or L button
At current, does absolutely nothing.
