Characters
Samus Aran

A bounty hunter who is the main character in the Metroid series as a whole, she is the character you are forced to use all through the main adventure mode. Her alternate form is the Morth Ball, which can lay relatively weak bombs (but the bombs can be used to gain height as a jump in this form0 and her affinity weapon is the Missiles, which home in slightly when she uses them.
Opponent Hunters (playable only in Multiplayer modes)
Sylux

This character is the 4th rival faced in the entire game, and the affinity weapon he possesses is the Shock Coil, which when used by him not only damages any opponents at short range, but also drains the health and gives it to Sylux. His alternate form is the Lockjaw. The Lockjaw has the ability to lay three bombs at once, which when they all explode on a target, causes a huge amount of damage, often a one hit kill. You can also fly by using the bombs to go upwards in areas of low gravity.
Weavel

The third opponent faced and a special unit Space Pirate, he possesses the Halfturret alternate form, which causes him to become in essence two characters, an automated gun turrent which automatically locks on to and shoots anything nearby and a walking form which has a short ranged physical attack. Possesses the Battle Hammer which fires shots that explode on contact.
Trace

The final opponent faced and a Kriken, he has the imperialist as an affinity weapon, which fires a slow moving laser beam which causes huge damage when it hits an opponent. His alternate form is the Triskelion, which can lunge at great speed, and like the rest of him, turn invisible by staying stationary in a level.
Kanden

A so called ultimate soldier, he uses Volt Driver as an affinity weapon, which can distort the vision of an opponent it hits. His alternate form, which is the Stinglarva, while weak is an extremely fast character, and can lay homing bombs as an attack. He is the first ever opponent you face, and also one of the weakest overall, so he shouldn't be much of a threat in adventure mode.
Noxus

A member of the Vhozen, he aims to get the ultimate power to stop the power falling into the wrong hands, namely those who want to use it for evil, or those unworthy. His affinity weapon is the powerful Judicator, which when charged, can freeze the target in a block of ice. His alternate form is the Vhoscythe, which is relatively quick but powerful. You face him as he is fighting Trace in Acterra, and is the second to last opponent you must defeat to progress.
Spire

A Diamonte, which means he is part of an ancient race which is silicon based, this character is the slowest opponent you will probably ever have to face in the game. He wants to find the ultimate power to solve his own mysteries, and his affinity weapon is the Magmaul, which not only explodes on contact with an opponent, but also burns them. His alternate form is the Dialanche, which is a slow thing that uses a spinning based attack as it's only weapon. He is immune to lava however, and has an advantage at Alinos Perch.
