Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story items
As in the last games in the series, there are a decent amount of items you can get throughout the game, all with different effects. Now, this is probably not the most important information, but still, it's always nice to have an item list, right?
Mushroom Types
Mushroom
Most basic of the lot, this simple item restores 30 HP to one character.
Super Mushroom
A bit better than the last, this item restores... 60 HP. Predictable, isn't it?
Ultra Mushroom
A pretty powerful item, these can be found after using Mighty Meteor if you're relatively lucky. They restore 120 HP, however shocking this thought may be.
Max Mushrooms
Another possible Mighty Meteor drop, these restore 240 HP. Strange that, since the word MAX should in theory mean an item that is a full HP restorer, see every other RPG including the past two games.
Syrups
Syrup Jar
A jar of syrup which restores 10 SP.
Supersyrup Jar
A more powerful jar of syrup which restores 20 SP.
Ultrasyrup Jar
Even more powerful is this jar... which restores 30 SP. People who thought it'd be double the last amount, raise your hand now.
Max Syrup
A horrible idea that restores a pathetic 40 SP. That's not max! For my game here, that's less than a third of their SP count!
Drumsticks
Hot Drumstick
Bowser's food item (note, meat), restores 80 HP. See, fast food is good for you and healing critical injuries gotten from fighting villains, evil star powered demons and Midbus!
Fiery Drumstick
Gives Bowser back 150 HP. Apparently, Bowser finds spicier food is healthier!
TNT Drumstick
Restores 280 HP to Bowser. Coolio. That's one explosive piece of chicken!
Nuts
Nut
Restores 20 HP to both Mario and Luigi. Useful for one round healing.
Super Nut
Restores 40 HP to both Mario and Luigi. There's a name pattern going on here...
Ultra Nut
Restores 80 HP to both Mario and Luigi. I think Mighty Meteor may drop this.
Max Nut
Restores 160 HP to both Mario and Luigi.
Star Candy
Restores max HP and SP to one character, Mario bros or Bowser alike. Really useful. Often dropped by Mighty Meteor and enemies.
1-Up Mushroom
Revives a fallen bro with half health. It's pretty much the Mario equivalent to a revive or phoenix down.
1-Up Deluxe
I swear one game calls these 1-Up Supers... Still, revives a fallen bro with max health. Makes the last item redundant, hopefully you get these a decent amount after using Mighty Meteor... and doesn't make a whole load of difference if Mario or Luigi is using the daredevil boots.
Refreshing Herb
Clears status effects, such as being poisoned/sick, knocked over, burnt or other stuff. Not really needed a lot, due to these statuses going away once you win the battle.
Retry Clock
Allows you to start a lost battle from the beginning. Seeing as this starts you off with full health and SP for all characters, this is really useful when you fight a boss without many items at about half health and get your backside kicked in. Or when fighting Giant Bowser battles, since you don't have to go through the adrenaline shooting game.
Beans
Adds one point permanently to either your health, power or speed stats. Found by digging up beans in the field, or by winning various sidequests. Some blocks apparently give you ninety nine of these like any other item...
