Pokemon Mystery Dungeon review
"You're a pokemon this time? SWEET!"
This is my review for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team.
Intro: Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of being a pokemon in a pokemon game. And here I go! I've been waiting for this game for years! And guess what? I like it!
Sound: 9/10
The sound is near-to-perfect. The music really has the mood of the wilderness in it, making it perfect. It's catchy. Seriously. And... oh... when you get to the late levels... the music ROCKS! I'm not just saying, "Oh, yeah, that's pretty good." I'm talking about, "OH MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME!" music.
Graphics: 10/10
These graphics... they are awesome. Plain out, they are great, and really show what pokemon is all about. Plus, the environment is amazing. The trees... the houses... the bushes... the mountains... AWESOME x2! The enemies and you look awesome, and to top it off, well, what can I say, the game itself sparkles (Not really, just a figure of speech.)
Story: 8/10
The story is pretty good. Basically, you fill out a questionnaire, and depending on your answers, it says what pokemon you would be! You then choose who your partner would be. The next morning, you wake up in Tiny Woods... as a pokemon! Whoever you picked as a partner is there, and you have to go rescue a caterpie! After you do, you whisk off to be a rescue team!
Controls: 8/10
The controls are all right. A is attack, B is dash/menu, L+A is a set attack, but that is basically it. If in the middle of a dungeon you stop, you have a variety of options on the touch screen, like Items, Team, and Moves. What I would have wished for is when you can have 4 moves on the touch screen, and you just press the one you want to use. Basically, the controls are fluent, but not fluent enough.
Gameplay: 9/10
Here's where it gets awesome-the gameplay. Moving around is fluent. Attacking is fun. You feel this game. The only thing I would have wished for is NOT a turn-based system, but more of a Zelda-styled attack method.
Replayability: 10/10
The replayability will stun you. This game could be played for a year and you would still not want to take your face away. It's like SSBM awesome. And that's saying someting!
