Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Review by kingbooforums
Prologue: dudududududududududu Oh sorry I was singing the theme just outside of Twinleaf town, very catchy but anyway this is my pokemon d/p review please sticky if you will it may have typos but like I said it will give a raw and true perspective of the game you may critizse if you like and comment but keep the "bad" comments to yourself but critizieing is ok.
STORY: 6/10 Same as usual catch pokemon battle gym leaders ect' nothing new here some features from older games added in the poketech an added marketing plot: OH LOOK A THINGY SO I CAN SEE MY POKEMONS STATUS BAR! Anyway moving on there is a new team of evil not as lame as Team Rocket but not as cool as Team Aqua or Team Magma they want like Team Rocket the usual legendary pokemon in the game and the gym leaders dident really have any personailtys and there was a lack of fire pokemon from what I heard new and in the game and I agree but thats it I guess.
CONTROLS: 10/10: The controls are easy like any pokemon game you can use the stylus for navigateing menus kind of pointless unless your really lazy I use the button preferably myself picking attacks and moving and such is easy so ya basicly perfect controls.
SOUND 6/10: Now there are only a couple of tunes I like (like the music as you leave Twinleaf village) the sounds in battle are well done I gues could have been a pinch better. I guess other than that everything is crystal clear and nice.
GRAPHICS 8/10 Pretty good graphics although the 3-d stuff is a bit over rated as I find it fuzzy at times but your charecter as you walk around is bigger than the last pokemon games so his features stand out more. The attacks look nice and the new pokemon are cool looking although not as much as red and blues.
GAMEPLAY 7/10 You know what it is about if you dont here's a run down: you catch, train and explore the world of pokemon you can fish go in caves and even catch rare pokemon it is a very fun experince indeed but gets old after awile and boring after you have beaten it and gotten all the gym badges so many times it wasent like gold and silver the impact it put on me (even though that was my first pkmn game)but it was still good.
DIFFICULTY 4/10: The difficulty was pathetic, almost as bad to spit on the gym leaders were as easy as pie and the elite four was a freakin joke some parts proved a challenge though such as battle tower online and such but even the battle tower is easy with the right pokemon.
MULTIPLAYER:9/10***small spoiler alert***
You can trade online with other people with no friend codes which was awesome I really enjoyed good job nintnedo you can go underground wiresly I guess that could have been wi-fi but I will let it slip THIS TIME! anyway ya you can put a pokemon up for trades at the global trade station cathc is you have to have seen that monster first or caught him in order to trade him over wi-fi....cool thing is(if they dont fake there location in the first place newbs..).
You can actually see who you traded with which is really neat. For example I once traded and got a golem from japan! The stats and stuff was in english but the name was in jap! It was pretty cool. You can also battle online but you have to beat the whole game which is a bummer other than that the multiplayer rocks oh and the undeground you can go with pals and look for treaure! Which is neat.
RENT OR BUY?: Buy. Not "deffiantly buy" but it is good for a fan or not even if you do not like the series try the games and d/p because it is a pretty good experince.
FINAL REVIEW: 7.9/10: Ok so it didn't match up to gold and silver but it beat ruby and saphire and blue and red it felt a bit rushed and stuff thrown in and some clever cheap marketing stuff like the poketech honestly do I really need a feature that shows my pomemons health bar when I can just go look it up on the pokemon option? it was good but felt a bit rushed the enviroments were very nice especcialy the rain and snow places.
