Super Mario Galaxy Cheats

All the stuff that's unlockable and that Nintendo programmed in as unlockable. Yeah, nothing really that unique or different, as anything they programmed in has been covered by 4 million different websites by the time this unremarkable page was created. But in case you want to know how to get the Grand Final Galaxy, as well as where to enter (as if the Trial Galaxy guide wasn't a clue), this is the basic information for you.

Unlock Luigi

Get 120 stars as Mario, and then defeat Bowser in the final level (Bowser's Galaxy Reactor- The Fate of the Universe). Luigi is different to Mario in a few ways, those being:

1. He rescues himself.
2. He jumps higher
3. He slides around and doesn't stop on a dime.
4. His Cosmic Races are against a far harder Cosmic variant called Cosmic Luigi who long jumps a lot and takes shortcuts.
5. Different post card after getting 240 stars.
6. He gets 20 1 ups from Princess Peach. Although he sometimes does get the same amount (5) as Mario sometimes.
7. He looks totally ridiculous in many different forms.

Unlock the Purple Coin Missions

Beat Bowser with any amount of stars in the final level. These comets then orbit the main galaxies (Good Egg, Honeyhive, Space Junk, Battlerock, Beach Bowl, Ghostly Galaxy, Gusty Garden, Dusty Dune, Freezeflame, Toy Time, Sea Slide, Gold Leaf, Deep Dark, Melty Molten and Dreadnought). Warning though, these challenges can be pretty darn difficult (don't let the Gateway and Good Egg Galaxy ones trick you otherwise)!

Unlock the Grand Finale Galaxy

Defeat Bowser with 120 stars as Luigi in the final level. It's then reachable on the other side of the Planet of Trials by talking to the green luma and using the launch star. In case you wondered though, it's basically purple coins in the Star Festival, and lives up to the name (a character reunion, like the Grand Finale at the end of a play rather than a massive battle or super level). Just a minor nice thing.

Special Letters sent to the Wii Message Board

Talk to the Mailtoad in the Grand Finale Galaxy. The Mario one shows him and Princess Peach together while the Luigi one shows him and Rosalina together.

Trial Galaxies

Know this should be obvious, but collect the three green stars to make a launch star appear at the Observatory. The green stars are found in Battlerock Galaxy (Luigi gives it to you), Buoy Base (go down the underwater pipe and open the cage with a Bullet Bill) and the Dusty Dune Galaxy (feed the hungry luma in Blasting through the Sand and then collect the silver stars inside the pyramid).

Death Count

Beat the Grand Finale Galaxy with both Mario and Luigi. This shows the death count when you click a file.
