Original DS Ultimates Before a Forum
Before the DS Ultimate forums were created, or even the old DS Ultimate forums, cheat-master30 was the sole administrator of DS Ultimate AOL Hometown version and DS Ultimate Tripod hosted version. They weren't very popular compared to recent DSU, and at this time, he was pretty much talking to himself on those websites, since they also had no chat or comment facility.
Old DS Ultimate Forums (Invisionfree era)
On March 5, 2006, cheat-master30 created the old DS Ultimate forums on Invisionfree, with some help from a few members of the Mario Kart Players Page. It was extremely quiet those first few months, with only people like cheat-master30 and Astr0 taking part in discussions. However, his plans for DS Ultimate to become a massive site were kinda defunct at this point in time, as despite the 65 members it amassed before changing to vBulletin and becoming what it is today, it never really grew that quickly, partly due to inexperienced staff. The original forums is still available, but has been transferred over to Zetaboards. All posts and stuff still remain as they were, as well as members. It only has just over 7,000 posts compared to the current forums which is much much younger and has almost 210,000 posts.
Current DS Ultimate Forums
Cheat-master30 pretty much works as usual at the DS Ultimate forums, site, wiki, blogs and gallery, albeit doing very little actual moderating and a lot of random chatting with members. He is pretty much the most active forum member even today due to his extremely quick posting.
Controversy
Despite being an active administrator, he is not without some enemies, and has had people critise him for a variety of things, including:
- Taking time trials as more skill than online
- Constantly posting about glitches and such like (pre DS Ultimate era)
- Defending 'snaking' and PRB on forums
- And likely more.
General Interests
- Website design, although the DS Ultimate site's style was indeed one of his earlier designs, his newer ones can be seen on certain fanlistings and the like.
- Philosophy
- Video games in general, although mainly the Mario, Legend of Zelda, Wario and Super Smash Bros series.
Trivia
- Cheat-master30 never uses a different name online since DS Ultimate.
- He suggests tropes at TV Tropes, releases modifications at vBulletin.org, posts suggestions at vBulletin.com and is a member of about five member's spinoff forums from DS Ultimate, posting regularly at Nintenzone when DS Ultimate was down.
- He has used the same avatar for three forums in a row.
- He has recently been involved with the DS Ultimate Mario World hack, mainly the aspects related to level design.
- His most edited pages on TV Tropes are the Wario Land page and the Platform Hell page, although he has contributed to many others with examples for a variety of series, and launched a few other trope pages.
- He has a rather annoying habit of losing video game save data every now and then. For example, his Pokemon Red game went through at least 10 different save files due to glitches, codes and plain random bad luck, his WarioWare Touched save file got temporary deleted and restored for no apparent reason, and more recently, he accidentally overwrote his Super Smash Bros Brawl Subspace Emissary save file with a new one he was playing through for the alternate cut scenes. Which meant he had to spend the time getting 100% completion... again.
- He complains a lot, yet complains that other people are complaining. He doesn't like fan boys, yet tells any Sony/Sega fanboy that they are idiots -- this point can be summed up as "hypocricy"
