Nintendo is the company that made the Nintendo DS console, and the company that owns the rights to the Mario, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, Starfox and F Zero series among many others. They have been around since September 13, 1889, have a revenue of ¥1.672 trillion ($15.735 billion, or £8.55 billion), and their latest console is the Wii.

Consoles and Hardware
As well as games, Nintendo have also published a plethora of systems over the years, ranging in importance. The main systems are:
- Color TV Games Series (1977 - 1979) - a series of dedicated consoles released in the late 1970s
- Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) (1983) - First main home console system by Nintendo
- Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) (1990) - Next home console system
- Nintendo 64 (N64) (1996) - First system by Nintendo to handle true 3D games and third generation by Nintendo
- Nintendo Gamecube (2001) - Less successful and quite recent system with more advanced graphics and such than the *Nintendo 64
- Wii (2006) - Current home console system with motion control.
Handheld Systems are:
- Game and Watch (1980 - 1991) - Set of dedicated consoles, i.e. which could play exactly one game each.
- Game Boy (1989) - Original handheld system with monochrome screen and 8 bit type games.
- Game Boy Pocket (1995) - Smaller version of the Game Boy, designed to fit in one's pocket.
- Game Boy Color (1998) - Colour version of the Gameboy with more advanced graphics and games.
- Game Boy Advance (2001) - Next generation of the Gameboy Colour with even more advanced graphics and such like. Had a lot of SNES ports for some reason.
- Game Boy Advance SP (2002) - A GBA with a light feature which let you turn on a light in the screen, for gameplay in the dark.
- Nintendo DS- The current handheld system, and the whole basis for DS Ultimate. It has two screens, the top is a normal GBA screen and the bottom is a touch screen.
- Game Boy Advanced SP Backlit Model (2005) - Same as the GBA Advanced SP, but with a backlight.
- Game Boy Micro (2005) - An even smaller model of the Game Boy Advance, currently the world's smallest handheld.
- Nintendo DS Lite (2006) - A DS with a light change feature, letting you adjust the brightness of the two screens.
